Travelling is expensive. Some of us get intimidated on deciding whether to book or not. I am a budget traveler and is very thrift in spending money on my vacations. To help you decide, here are some tips on how to travel successfully on a tight budget.
Book plane tickets ahead of time
I usually look and research the cheapest flights months even a year before my chosen month of vacation. Subscribe and enroll to newsletters of airline companies so that you will be notified ahead of time with their offered low fares or promos. Sometimes, when I am lucky, I pay as low as 1 peso for the fare plus security fee and other charges which will make you pay as low as 550 pesos to 6,000 pesos for a roundtrip ticket. Once I had the confirmed flight itinerary, my excitement begins.
Book for accommodation
Booking for accommodation has never been so easy. Do your research. Use various hotel apps to make sure you get the cheapest hotels in the market. Take into consideration the location of the hotel and make sure you check all the reviews. Try booking.com, Trivago, Agoda to compare all the prices. Every hotel has different rates for different apps so make sure to check and compare so you can get the best rate. When you check out hotel prices, subscribe to their newsletter first. Do not rush in booking your hotel just yet. They send you promo codes in an email. Make sure to click the link there to get low prices.
Do your research
Once the flight and accommodation are confirmed, it is time to plan for your daily itineraries. Stick to your plan and consider if it is realistic. Try exploring Klook. Klook is a world-leading travel activity and services booking platform with more than 100,000 activities across 400 destinations worldwide. They offer the best rates of tour packages and rates.
Budget
We all know it is dangerous to travel without this one. Make sure though you have those extra credit card you can use during an emergency. When travelling, it is best to change local money outside the airport since exchange rates are higher there thereby giving you more buck.
Travel insurance
Never skip this one. Usually, travel insurance is offered by airline companies at the time you booked your air ticket. Travel insurance is a type of insurance designed to cover the costs and losses associated with unexpected events incurred while travelling. Let us say you are sick or injured and can’t get home, travel insurance will cover your unforeseen additional accommodation and travel costs. You will also be covered for your unexpected travel expenses if a close relative, or if the person you are travelling with dies unexpectedly or is disabled or injured and needs hospitalization. This may come in handy during an emergency.
